Joan Powell, 65, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Thursday, Dec. 10, 2020, at her home. Services will be held at a
later date. Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids is assisting the family.
Joan was born Sept. 26, 1955, in Iowa, the daughter of Raymey and Cleo Powell. She graduated from Prairie High School and went on to attend Kirkwood Community College. Joan worked as a painter. She enjoyed fishing, camping, rock music, Betty Boop, art, gardening, turquoise rocks and Indian culture. Joan loved spending time with her family and friends. She worked hard to provide for her family. Joan loved to laugh and make others happy. She was a best friend and grandmother of seven who will be remembered with love. Rest in peace, Mom.
Joan is survived and lovingly remembered by her sons, Shane (Kelly) Powell and David Cluff II, both of Cedar Rapids; seven grandchildren; brother, Eugene Powell; sister, Barbara Bailey; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
