‘Moo!’: Story of car-driving cow a read aloud favorite
By Fergie Ward, Longfellow Elementary School

David LaRochelle's 'Moo!” is a funny and charming tale of adventure.
Who wouldn't love a story about a cow joy-riding in a stolen car? The illustrations and words go together hand in hand to create an amazing story. It's neat how they can transform one word into a story. 'Moo” changes its meaning when used with different punctuation and font size, which is what David did.
This is a read aloud favorite. When reading, you get to choose the cow's personality. It has a simple, yet exciting storyline that kids will love to listen to and read for themselves. Or, perhaps they could read it to a friend or parent.
It's perfect for all ages! Young readers will like this book because of its simple dialogue and funny pictures. Older readers will like it because they can try to figure out what the cow is saying.
'Moo!” is a masterpiece and will be for many years to come. I hope you enjoy it!
