Brucemore mansion hosts annual holiday tours

CEDAR RAPIDS - The Brucemore historic site in Cedar Rapids is once again opening its doors for Holiday Mansion Tours.
The tours take place Wednesdays through Sundays through Dec. 21 at the mansion, 2160 Linden Dr. SE. Cost is $12 for adults, $5 for children ages 6 to 18 and free for kids 5 and younger and members.
All four floors of the mansion are decked out in holiday style, including 13 trees and garlands galore. Visitors will enjoy a dining room set for Christmas dinner, stunning mantel arrangements and other seasonal cheer.
Sunday tours are accompanied by piano music.
Tours on Wednesday through Friday are offered at the top of the hour from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tours on Saturdays are offered every half hour from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday tours are every half hour from 1 to 3 p.m.
In addition, the mansion is open for tours from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursdays, Dec. 7, 14, 21 and 28. Tickets for these tours are $20 at the door. Advance tickets also are avaialble for $15 for adults and $10 for members and students.
