Jennifer Ann (Bird) Dunkel, 44, of Traer, Iowa, loving daughter and mother of four children, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 30, 2019, after a sudden illness. A Celebration of Life gathering will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 9, 2019, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Burial is at Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids, at a later date.
Jennifer was born on March 15, 1974, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Michael and Kathy (Kesselring) Bird. After graduating from high school, she went on to work toward a degree from Kirkwood Community College. Jennifer was a very warm, lovable woman. She always put others before herself. Jennifer was known for her youthful spirit and her infectious smile. She welcomed people from all walks of life, providing life experiences for them. Jennifer was a volunteer for the Boy Scouts of Tama County.
Jennifer is survived by her father, Michael Bird of Cedar Rapids; her four children, Montana Dunkel-Altaf (John Klink) of Oelwein, Nevada Dunkel (Dylan Cronk) of Toledo and Daytona and Tacoma Dunkel, both of Traer; brothers, Jeremy (Jessie) Hartman of Dysart and Jason Bird of Cedar Rapids; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Kathy Kesselring; and infant sister, Sobrina Bird.
