Robert Paul Sams, 60, of Maquoketa, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2015, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Lahey Funeral Home in Maquoketa will be assisting the family at this time.
Robert was born Nov. 5, 1955, to Kenneth Lee and Samara Jane (Farrington) Sams. He grew up in the Anamosa area, as well as in Lost Nation and Wyoming Iowa. He graduated from Dewitt School in 1975.
Robert worked at the Anamosa Stave Mill, Mikes Antiques in Zwingle and for Cliff Dirks in Wyoming for many years.
He is survived by his daughter, Bethany Sams (Brian Schepers) of Maquoketa; son, Travis (Kim) Sams of Monticello; eight grandchildren; brothers, Charles (Carla) Sams of Anamosa, Terry (Colleen) Sams of Anamosa, James (Lousie) Sams of Hale and Doug (Mae) Sams of Monmouth; sisters, Judy (Will) Anders of Oxford Junction, Cindy (Mark) of Lisbon and Yutana Sams of Lisbon; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Pamela Dahl; a brother, Andy Sams; and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
