Roy A. Olson, 89, Oxford area farmer, died Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2014, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 28, at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City. There will be a time of refreshments and fellowship following the services.
A memorial fund has been established in Roy's memory.

Roy Arlo Olson was born Dec. 13, 1925, in Iowa City, the son of Oscar and Mary (McEowen) Olson. Roy was united in marriage to Marie A. Schropp on June 30, 1948, in Oxford. The couple has farmed in the Oxford area for many years, and Roy worked for Amana Refrigeration for over 30 years before he retired.
Roy loved the life of a farmer. He also enjoyed collecting and building antique toy tractors and riding his Harley motorcycles!
His family includes his wife, Marie; three sons and their wives, Alan and Traci Olson, Mark and Carol Olson and Clint and Lisa Olson; five grandchildren, Brittany, Kaylie, Steven, Jason and Tyler; a great-grand-daughter, Natalie; and his sister, Ruth Potter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Velda and June; and his grandson, Walker Olson.
