Iowa Democrats elect delegates

The 29 Iowa Democrats elected national delegates at district conventions Saturday are almost evenly split between Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders.
According to an Iowa Democratic Party news release, 15 delegates support Clinton and 14 back Sanders.
The national alternates chosen Saturday also were split - two from Clinton and two for Sanders.
The state's delegation to the Democratic National Convention will consist of 51 delegates and four alternates. Seven unpledged superdelegates are automatic members of the national delegation, according to the news release.
To round out the delegation, 15 pledged delegates will be elected June 18 at the state convention in Des Moines.
