A new poll says that Democratic presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton is leading in Iowa by 22 points over rival, U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont.
The Monmouth University Poll of 405 Iowans who say they're likely to attend the Feb. 1 caucuses said 55 percent supported Clinton, while 33 percent were for Sanders. Former Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley was picked by 6 percent.
The poll was conducted Dec. 3-6. It has a margin of error of plus or minus 4.9 percent.
Clinton had a large lead among women over Sanders, 61 percent to 27 percent, the poll said. She had a narrower lead with men, 47 percent to 42 percent.
In October, the poll said that Clinton led by 41 points. However, this survey's methodology is different in that the October poll respondents were drawn from a pool of Iowans who also had voted in previous party primaries in the state. Only about half of the new poll's sample is made up of Iowans who voted in previous primaries.
Forty-one percent of the poll's respondents said they are completely decided on their choice.
