Cedar Rapids company makes changes in senior management team

CEDAR RAPIDS -- Ament Inc., an engineering, architecture, and surveying company, has announced changes in the company's leadership.
Jim Rose, who works in the company's Moline office, has been named president of Ament. Rose, who has been with the company for more than 12 years, succeeds John Bender, who retired recently.
Allen Varney, who also has been with the Ament for more than 12 years, has been named executive vice president. Varney works in the company's Cedar Rapids office.
Michael Dryden, a 28-year employee of the firm who works in the Cedar Rapids office, has been named treasurer and secretary.
Ament, an employee-owned company with offices in Cedar Rapids and Waterloo as well as Moline and Arlington Heights, Ill., was formed in 1983 and has 24 employees. The company specializes in engineering, architecture, consulting, surveying, land development, and other construction related services.
Ament has been instrumental in the design of many well known public improvement projects and major private developments in the Midwest. The company has been working on the renovation and remodeling of the Cedar Rapids City Hall and Council Chambers, and the Linn County Courthouse in Cedar Rapids, as well as the Tower Terrace Road extension through Marion.
