Nancy Ann Beatty, 80, of Edgewood, died at her home on Saturday, July 23, 2016.
She was born May 2, 1936, at home on a farm on the south edge of Greeley, the daughter of Arthur I. and Stella (Weber) Bockenstedt. Nancy attended Greeley Community School and graduated in 1954. Upon graduation she played National AAU basketball for the Bremmers of Davenport.
On Jan. 22, 1955, Nancy was united in marriage to Roger Beatty at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Greeley. She worked at Beatty Feed Mill and Grain when needed. She also worked at the Ertl Co. in Dyersville and was secretary of Ed-Co High School for 10 years and John Deere Dubuque Works for 20 years.
Nancy was a past member and officer of St. Mark's Altar Rosary Society, St. Joseph's Choir of Dyersville and St. Mark's Choir. Her hobby was geneology.
Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Roger Beatty of Edgewood; a son, Daniel (LeAnn) Beatty of Woodbury, Minn.; one daughter, Jill (Rod) Kulper of Colesburg; four grandchildren, Gretchen (Mike) Johnson of Manchester, Cody Kulper of Guttenberg, Andrea (Marty) Hahn of Edgewood and Christine (Colin) Charlson of Minnetrista, Minn.; 10 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Lila Tilp of Rock Island, Ill.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Daniel Bockenstedt; and sisters, Mary (Ben) Ryan, Judy Nurre, Maxine Westrom and Grace Griffin.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association.

Private family services were held by Pastor Mike Jackson, with a private family inurnment.
