Sam Franks, 71, died peacefully at his residence of cancer on Saturday, May 14, 2016. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 18, at Van Steenhuyse-Russell Funeral Home, Vinton. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Vinton.
Sam is survived by his wife, Jan of Vinton; daughter, Kathy Franks of Oklahoma; stepdaughter, Ann McAtee of Vinton; brother, Elmer (Rhonda) Franks of Glendale, Ariz.; stepsister, Kaye Grimm of Urbana; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial fund has been established.
