Virgil Luther Newhouse, 89, of Marion, passed away Saturday, Sept. 24, 2016, at Northbrook Manor, Cedar Rapids, following complications of a hip fracture. Visitation: 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion. Funeral services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28, at Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, Marion. Second visitation: 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 29, at Adams Funeral Home, Ames, with a memorial service beginning at 11:30 a.m. Burial: Ames Municipal Cemetery, Ames.
