Sonja E. Johnson, 72, died Saturday, Sept. 13, 2014, at Heritage Nursing Home. A private family
burial will be at a later date.
Survivors include her daughter, Pamela Turner (Carl) of Michigan; brothers, Jackie and Richard Johnson; sisters, Linda Remillard and Billijean Troxel (John); grandchildren, Valerie and Chase Miotke; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Shelby Clemons; brother, Joseph Johnson; and her parents.
She was born Oct. 29, 1941. Sonja loved her job as a bus aide for Cedar Rapids Community Schools. She will be remembered for her love of dancing, gambling and traveling.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
The family wants to thank the staff at Heritage for the kindness shown to Sonja in her final days.
