Michael A. Hills, 64, of Wyoming, Iowa, passed away at his home on Sunday, Oct. 11, 2015. Memorial Gathering: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16, followed by sharing at 1 p.m., at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Center Point. Burial: Circle Grove Cemetery, Troy Mills, with military rites.
Survivors include mother, Dorothy (Mikeal) Franks of Anamosa; children, Rachael (Tim) Bauer of Walker and Sarah (Troy) Mollenhauer of Mount Juliet, Tenn.; brothers, Patric (Janel Johnson) Hills of Cedar Rapids and Mark (Becky) Hills of Texas; grandchildren, Natalie, Brycen and Carver; nephews and a niece.
He was preceded in death by his father and brother, Steven.
Michael was born on Aug. 25, 1951, the son of Harold and Dorothy (Shanks) Hills in California. He was a proud Marine serving in the Vietnam War. Michael worked as a welder and truck driver. He was a jack of all trades. Michael loved to tinker in his shop. He loved to sing and he played the guitar, piano, harmonica and accordion. Michael enjoyed hunting and loved his grandchildren.
Instead of flowers, a memorial fund has been established. Cards and condolences may be made out to Rachael Bauer, 703 Grant St., Walker, IA 52352.
