New Pioneer looking north shows ‘corridor’

One of the most promising indications that a “corridor” meaningfully links Iowa City and Cedar Rapids/Marion, and all communities in between, is a recent initiative launched by the New Pioneer Food Co-op. As a first step toward the goal of expanding, New Pi has recently held exploratory meetings in Marion and Cedar Rapids.

It is exciting to think that this well-established business could soon be offering healthful and sustainably produced groceries in our community, significantly broadening our shopping options.

I urge friends and neighbors to encourage and support New Pi's efforts to grow their presence right here, at the north end of the corridor.
