A good size crowd showed up to watch today's fan day scrimmage for the Iowa Hawkeyes at Kinnick Stadium.
The Hawkeye first-team defense looked pretty good and were led by Adrian Clayborn who dominated at times.
Offensively, running backs Jewell Hampton and Adam Robinson were out of most of the contact plays. Hampton did get one carry in the red zone and got in for a touchdown.
Coach Kirk Ferentz on Wegher
Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz says there's no timetable for the return of sophomore running back Brandon Wegher, but he's cautiously optimistic that Wegher will rejoin the Hawkeyes this season.
After an open scrimmage Saturday, Ferentz said Wegher intends to stay in school. The coach doesn't believe the logjam at running back contributed to Wegher's departure.
