Marion man to prison for having child porn

CEDAR RAPIDS - A 25-year-old Marion man who pleaded guilty to receiving child pornography, after a previous conviction for a sex offense in state court, was sentenced Wednesday to 15 years in federal prison.
Justin M. Hinz admitted receiving images last year of children younger than 12 engaged in sexually explicit conduct. U.S. District Chief Judge Linda Reade said he had a total of 3,098 images of children.
Hinz had received a deferred sentence and probation for a 2004 conviction of sexual exploitation of a minor in Linn County District Court.
