E. Jaye Garland, 74, of Marion, passed away Tuesday, July 12, 2016, at Bickford Cottage, Marion. Visitation: 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 20, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Memorial services: 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial: Northlawn Memory Gardens, Iowa Falls, at a later date.
Survivors include a daughter, Tracy (Tom) Wyckoff of Cedar Rapids; three grandchildren, Jackson, Wes and Mari; and daughter-in-law, Andrea Garland of Cedar Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Larry D. Garland; son, Loran D. Garland; and sister, Beverly DeWitt.
E. Jaye was born Dec. 24, 1941, in Des Moines, Iowa, daughter of Harry E. and Tracy (Reich) Erlanson. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in Des Moines and attended Drake University. She married Larry D. Garland on April 21, 1963, in Iowa Falls. E. Jaye retired from St. Luke's Hospital after 23 years as an executive assistant.
She loved gardening, reading books, learning and trying new things.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association.
