Wayne Wood Davison, 91, passed away at Terrace Glen Nursing Home in Marion, Iowa, on Saturday, Dec. 12, 2020. A visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 18, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. As mandated by proclamation, social distancing must be practiced, which requires a limited number of people to be allowed into the visitation at one time. The use of face masks or shields are required. A private funeral service will be held at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Inurnment Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Wayne was born Sept. 9, 1929, in Larned, Kan. He was the son of the late Don and Elizabeth (Wood) Davison. On Dec. 21, 1954, Wayne married the love of his life, Joyce Brungardt in Great Bend, Kan. She preceded him in death on April 30, 2003.
Wayne served in the U.S. Navy from 1948 to 1952, where he served in the Korean conflict. Wayne attended the University of Kansas, where he received his B.S. in engineering. Wayne worked at Rockwell Collins from 1957 until his retirement in 1992. Wayne enjoyed traveling, fishing, woodworking and spending time with his family as well as lifelong friends and those he met at the Terrace Glen Village.
Those left to cherish Wayne's memory are his grandchildren, Kara and Connor Davison of Independence, Iowa; daughter-in-law, Julie Davison of Independence; cousins, Hyla (Fred) Winters of Las Vegas, Nev., and Wood (Mary) Wiles of Atlanta, Ga.; and many wonderful friends.
Beside his wife, Wayne was also preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Mark and Brent Davison; siblings, Harold, Clayton and Virginia; mother and father-in-law; and brothers and sisters-in-law.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family to be put toward a memorial at Terrace Glen.
The family wishes to thank the entire staff at Terrace Glen for their care and support of Wayne during his time there.
