Florence Dolph, 87, of Cedar Rapids, died Jan. 12, 2015. Private burial was held at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Teahen Funeral Home is serving the family.
Florence is survived by two sisters, Marian Nelson and Mabel Rouse; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John; parents, four brothers and four sisters.
Florence was born March 22, 1927, in Dubuque, the daughter of Arthur and Florence Hulf Nelson. Florence worked at General Outdoor Advertising in Cedar Rapids from 1947 to 1953. She married John Dolph on March 5, 1960. He died in 1975. Florence then lived in Spooner, Wis., from 1976 to 1993. While in Spooner, she was a member of the Spooner Wesleyan Church, where she served as an LBA member at large, secretary, social director and Sunday school teacher for 13 years. She also was a volunteer bookkeeper at the United Christian Academy for 13 years.
