Randy DuCharme, 61,
of Cedar Rapids, died Monday, April 27, 2015, surrounded by family and friends, due to complications of diabetes. Service: 4 p.m. Thursday, April 30, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 520 Wilson Ave. SW, Cedar Rapids, with Pastor Mark Thomas officiating. The family will greet friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Randy Lee DuCharme was born April 1, 1954, in Cedar Rapids, to George W. and Betty (Duhu) DuCharme. He graduated from Regis High School. He married Melissa Turner in Vinton, Iowa, on July 2, 1997. Randy retired from General Mills in December 2010.
He is survived by his wife, Melissa; his father, George; his children, Annabelle at home, Beth Perkins of Walker and Randy DuCharme of Cedar Rapids; and his grandchildren, Dylan, Austin, Jack and Rylee Perkins of Walker and Destiney and Randy Lee DuCharme of Cedar Rapids.
Randy was preceded in death by his mother, Betty; granddaughter, Mattison Perkins; and his brother, Ron.
Randy was a very spiritual man with a strong love for God and Jesus. He enjoyed spending time at church and loved his church family. Randy loved joking with friends and family with his quirky, quick-witted humor. He also loved playing chess and was rarely defeated.
