Keith E. Taylor, 85, of Williamsburg, passed away Saturday, Dec. 12, 2020, at Compass Memorial Hospital. Per Keith's wishes, his body was donated to the University of Iowa deeded body program for research. A memorial service will be held in the spring of 2021, with inurnment at the Millersburg Cemetery, Millersburg, Iowa. Memorials may be contributed in Keith's name in care of Kloster Funeral Home, 298 W. Washington St. Marengo, IA 52301. Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Keith is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Myra of Williamsburg; his daughters, Renee Moravec of Millersburg and Ronda (Dennis) Scheidt of Coralville; and a granddaughter, Rachel Scheidt of Coralville.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Bill and Melvin Taylor; a son-in-law, Bruce Moravec; and parents-in-law, William and Lillian Stock.

Keith Elroy Taylor was born Feb. 16, 1935, in rural Webster, Iowa, the son of Marvin and Wilma Fahrney Taylor. He graduated from Millersburg High School with the Class of 1952. Keith enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving from 1956 to 1958. He was stationed in New York serving as a surveillance radar operator. Keith was united in marriage to Myra Stock on June 16, 1962, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Marengo. The couple were married by Myra's father, Pastor William Stock.

Keith owned and operated Taylor Insurance Agency in Millersburg, then became a field representative for Square Deal, a crop hail insurance company. He served as Millersburg City Clerk, was the Booster Club President, served on the Iowa Valley School Board, Lions Club and many church boards. Keith was a musician, at the age of 12 he began playing in swing and dance bands in Eastern Iowa supper clubs and continued for 30-plus years. He was also a member of the Marengo Civil War Band. He played spoons along with the T.A.Y.L.O.R. Trio, a group consisting of his wife, Myra, his two daughters and their ministry. Keith enjoyed doing word searches, daily reading of his Bible, and was an avid Hawkeye fan. He was a devoted husband, loving dad and grandpa. He will be greatly missed by many.

The family would like to thank Compass Memorial Hospital and Essence of Life Hospice for their wonderful care, and family and friends for their love and support. Keith will have a perfect Christmas in his perfect Heavenly home.
