Letter: Monica Vernon shows good judgment

My father was a small-town banker in Texas and he taught me that the most valuable quality in people is their judgment. Monica Vernon, Congressional candidate for the Democratic nomination in the First District, is an excellent example of someone who possesses that important quality of good judgment.

Vernon has consistently shown good judgment in growing her business, in her service on the Cedar Rapids City Council, and in raising her family.

Through her experience as a small-business owner, she is skilled at analyzing data and working with a variety of people. This experience will put her in good stead in Washington, where she will exercise good judgment on our behalf.

We would be lucky to have such a person representing us in Congress and I plan to vote for her in the June 7 primary.
