I attended the forum for candidates for House District 68. It was a civilized debate and very informative. As a veteran, I want to thank Ken Rizer for his service.
As the debate progressed, I determined that Rizer would continue with the far right reasoning of his party.
Rizer wants Iowa to be the 'shining city on the hill,” he wants clean water but only if it doesn't effect economic development. He endorses charter schools and wants schools to have local control. Sorry, but we need a standardization of the nation's schools because we are a mobile society. Rizer doesn't endorse the death penalty but would endorse a 'stand your ground” amendment. Everyone has a right to 'defend” themselves. Unions lead to layoffs so he wouldn't endorse collective bargaining.
I am endorsing Dan Lundby, who understands that if you can't smoke in public, why are we allowed to 'open carry guns.” He believes social issues are a distraction to real issues. He will not ignore his district but will do what is right for all Iowans. A vote for Lundby is a voice for all.
