Black Hawks Postpone December 11th Game

The Waterloo Black Hawks announced today they have postponed the hockey game for Saturday night against the Des Moines Buccaneers due to a blizzard forecast for the Cedar Valley.
The National Weather Service issued a blizzard warning for northern Iowa, including Black Hawk County, for Saturday night and Sunday morning. High winds, ice, and large snow accumulations are expected.
"Mother Nature is very hard to predict, but the weather people seem to all agree that we are in for a very bad storm tonight," said Doug Miller, President of the Black Hawks. "We would much rather err on the side of safety for our fans, the players, and game night staff than place any of them in danger."
The game will be rescheduled and the make-up date will be announced next week. All tickets for tonight's game will be honored on that date or can be turned in on any "rain Check" nights.
The Black Hawks will return to action at Young Arena on New Year's Eve when they face the Des Moines Buccaneers. Tickets are available online at
