Nighttime road construction work on Interstate 380 between Black Hawk County Road V-49 (exit 66) and Evansdale Drive (exit 68) near Elk Run Heights will require three separate full-lane closures on the northbound side of the roadway not to exceed 30 minutes each from 9 p.m. until 6 a.m. beginning Tuesday, March 6, until Wednesday, March 7, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation's (DOT) New Hampton construction office.
Three separate full-lane closures not to exceed 30 minutes each will also be required for construction on eastbound U.S. 20 between Black Hawk County Road D-19 and Iowa 58 (exit 224) near Cedar Falls from 9 p.m. until 6 a.m. beginning Wednesday, March 7, until Thursday, March 8.
The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations can more than double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles and wear seat belts.
The Iowa DOT will be providing regular updates on the construction process, beginning with the bid letting in March. For traveler information anytime, visit
