A judge has revoked the parole of a former Muscatine County judge who has been convicted of drunken driving three times.
James Weaver was arrested Nov. 23, three days after he was released on parole on his third-offense drunken-driving conviction. He was accused of violating his parole by drinking and harassing his wife.
On Thursday, a judge said he was tempted to send Weaver back to prison, but he ordered Weaver to serve four months on work release.
Weaver pleaded guilty in August to drunken driving. His other convictions were in 2002 and 2004.
Weaver served as an associate judge from 1982 to 2004.
