died Wednesday, Feb. 17,
2021, at St. Luke's Transitional Care Center. Memorial Service: 1 p.m. Saturday at Teahen Funeral Home by the Rev. Ivan Nienhaus. Burial: Mount Calvary Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on

Ronald was born on Oct. 15, 1942, in Cedar Rapids, to Milvoy and Stella Jantzen Silhanek. He graduated from Chelsea High School and attended Iowa State University for one year.
Ronald loved flying and was a charter pilot for 40 years for various companies in Cedar Rapids. He also loved cars and was very proud of his Toyota Celica back in the 80s and his 3-speed Schwinn Bike.
Ronald is survived by his wife, Kathy; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Greg of Traer, Diane and Harold of Prairie du Chien, Wis., and Sandy and Roger Gardner of Haverhill. He is also survived by one aunt, Ellen Jantzen of Grinnell; four nieces and nephews; 10 great-nieces and -nephews; and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and feline Maine Coon, Samson.
