Theresa M. Vance, 58, of Williamsburg, died Thursday, April 28, 2016, peacefully at home after a short battle with cancer.
Theresa Marie Vance was born Oct. 2, 1957, in Charles City, Iowa. She spent most of her life in the Iowa City area. She was a hardworking mother of four and loved spending time with family and her many grandchildren.
Teri's joys were fast cars, antiquing, mushroom hunting and playing Scrabble. She loved music and was a huge supporter of all of her family's music endeavors.
She is survived by her mother, Wilma Jones; her children, Jamie (Vanessa) Vance of North Liberty and Jessie (Joel) McMorran, Lee (Elizabeth) Spratt and Breon (Adam) Tubbs, all of Oxford; her grandchildren, Alyssa, Zachary, Alexandra, Logan, Madalynn, Alala, Ethan, Elle, Tilly and Eevee; her boyfriend, Robert Shifflett (Barefoot Bob); her siblings, Marilyn Slivinski, Jim (Clara) Vance, Dean Vance and Gary (Christine) Vance; and many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life gathering will be at the Oxford American Legion on Sunday, May 22, from 3 to 7 p.m.
