A Cedar Rapids man faces sexual abuse charges after two young girls accused him of long-term sexual abuse.
According to the criminal complaint, Wade H. Swiftbird, 40, is charged with two counts of second-degree sexual abuse and two counts of the indecent contact with a child.
The charges stem from accusations from a 13-year-old girl and an 11-year old girl, who law enforcement officials said gave detailed accounts indicating Swiftbird had 'committed a series of acts upon them” between August of 2010 and May of 2011 and again in February of this year.
The complaint states Swiftbird subjected the girls to multiple sex acts and inappropriate touching over their clothing. The incidents occurred at two different residences in Cedar Rapids - one in 1100 block of Center Point Road NE, the other located in the 3200 block of South Ridge Drive SW, according to the complaint.
Swiftbird was arrested Wednesday and made his initial appearance in Linn County District Court Thursday morning where his bond was set at $50,000 cash.
