Cedar Rock, a midcentury modern estate overlooking the Wapsipinicon River near Quasqueton, is open for tours. Visitors will see how world-renowned architect Frank Lloyd Wright blended architectural beauty, simplicity and sophistication in a retirement home commissioned by the late Lowell and Agnes Walter. Nearly everything at Cedar Rock bears the architect's imprint - he designed the furniture and selected the carpets, draperies and accessories. The house, now part of a 420-acre state park, embraces Wright's Usonian residential style for living simply, in harmony with nature.
