William "Bill" Jensen, 94, of Cedar Rapids, died Monday, Oct. 23, 2017, at Northbrook Manor. Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Patrick Catholic Church by the Rev. Ivan Nienhaus. Burial: Mount Calvary Cemetery. A vigil will be
held at 4 p.m. Thursday at Teahen Funeral Home, where friends may visit with the family until 8 p.m. following the service.
Bill is survived by his children, Randall (Beth) of Des Moines, Kathleen (Dave) of Akron, Ohio, Susan of Coralville, Debra (Ray) of Muscatine, Wendy (Michael) of Puyallup, Wash., and Laurie (Kevin) of Lafayette, Ind.; 14 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Marie Schow of Golden, Colo.; family friend, Barbara Sojka; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife and his sister, Evelyn Berry.
William Oscar Jensen was born Oct. 4, 1923, in Cedar Rapids to James and Sena Christensen Jensen. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He married Antoinette Arentsen in New Baden, Ill., on May 4, 1946. For 38 years, Bill was an engineer for the Milwaukee Railroad, retiring in 1983.
He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
