Ladora
Darlene Smith, 95, of Ladora, died Monday, Oct. 31, 2016, at Rose Haven Nursing Home in Marengo. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 3, at the United Methodist Church in Victor. Interment will be in the Victor Memorial Cemetery. Friends may call at Smith Funeral Home in Victor beginning at
1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
Memorials may be directed to the Ladora United Methodist Church and sent in care of Smith Funeral Home in Victor.
Survivors include her children, Gary (Penny) Johnson of Arlington, Texas, Bonnie (James) Newville of Desert Hot Springs, Calif., and James (Editha) Smith of Cedar Rapids; nine grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and her sister, Delores (Carl) Simons of Logansport, Ind.
Darlene was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one daughter, Connie Jo Smith; two sisters, Leota Cheney and Carol Ann Randolph; and one great granddaughter.
