RoseAnn Werner, 91, of Worthington, died Friday, Jan. 1, 2016, at home surrounded by her family.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 5, at Kramer Funeral Home, 750 12th Ave. SW, in Dyersville, where a parish vigil service will be at 2 p.m. and a Catholic Daughters rosary at 4 p.m. Friends may continue to call from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Wednesday before the funeral service.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 6, at St. Paul Catholic Church, Worthington, with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. Dennis Quint will officiate.
RoseAnn was born May 31, 1924, in Dyersville, Iowa, the daughter of Henry and Eleanor (Freking) Luensmann. She received her education at St Francis Xavier School, Dyersville. She married Howard J. Werner on May 31, 1956, in Delhi. Together they farmed and raised their family.
RoseAnn was a member of St. Paul Parish, Altar and Rosary Society and Catholic Daughters of Americas.
Survivors include six children, Joyce Gaul of Dyersville, Carol (John) Watts of Madelia, Minn., Allen (Nancy) Werner and Chris (Arlene) Werner, both of Hopkinton, Nancy Werner of Worthington and Ronald (Sheila) Werner of Hopkinton; 17 grandchildren: Jayme Gaul, Chad Gaul, April Young, Mindy Kamp, Gina Dunne, Cory Watts, Andrew Werner, Amanda Werner, Johnathon, Dylan, Austin, Zachary, Devin, Max, Alex, Camrun and Logan Werner; 13 great-grandchildren: Hunter, Joseph Kamp, Kaleb, Jade Young, Ariana, Abigail Gaul, Aiden, Addison Werner, Ryan Dunne, Audrey Werner, Dani, Jaci Poswiatowsky and Jack Knepper; and special family friend, Jeff Derga.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Howard, in 2015; siblings, Marie (Francis) Ernzen, Frances Luensmann, Alfred (Mary) Luensmann, Elmer (Mary Ann) Luensmann, Linus (Helen) Luensmann, John (Esther) Luensmann, Robert (Elizabeth) and Billy Luensmann (in infancy); and in-laws, John (Clara), Ray (Ann), George (Millie) Norbert (Anna) Werner, Florence (Joseph) Drees and Christine (Henry) Jaeger.
