Talking Wednesday with Iowa football

I accumlate the material throughout the day and need to get it out faster.
So, here are three videos from Iowa players and the transcript of Wednesday's interviews with Iowa's offensive coordinator Greg Davis and defensive coordinator Phil Parker.
The videos — Junior OLB Bo Bower talks about his desire to see the field. He was a starter in 2014 and is starting this spring because of injury to junior Ben Niemann. Bower isn't out of it for weakside linebacker, would entertain full-time defensive end but politely declined on my idea of giving fullback a shot (hey, I was spitballing).
You'll notice that sophomore defensive end Matt Nelson is 6-8. I asked Reese Morgan, his position coach, this spring how Nelson has done at keeping his pad level low. In my brilliant mind, I see a 6-8 guy and I think, hey, maybe that's a trouble spot. OK, so it wasn't exactly a brillian observation and probably was a bit obvious. Either way, it has been a thing Nelson has concentrated on and feels good about. Also, he's changed his body since high school and feels he moves better and is quicker at 280 pounds.
Sophomore QB Tyler Wiegers probably isn't beating out senior C.J. Beathard, so what does he concentrate on during the spring game? He brings up the concept of ball placement. That really became a thing last year and will remain a big thing for Iowa QBs. Davis also talked about it in his interview.
More videos to come.
