Predictions on the Iowa-Michigan State from hither and yon
Mike Hlas Oct. 23, 2009 12:04 pm
The links provide the details of their reasoning. If you don't like some of the picks, don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player.
Tim Sullivan of the New York Post is calling this a trap for Iowa and picks Michigan State.
Chuck Carlton of the Dallas Morning News calls it MSU 16, Iowa 14.
College football guru Phil Steele tabs the Hawkeyes by 20-16.
ESPN.com's Adam Rittenberg is going with Iowa, 19-14.
Newsday has a split call. Adam Abramson says "This is not the No. 6 team in the country, folks," and picks Iowa to lose, 23-20. But Mike Rose goes with the Hawkeyes on a Daniel Murray field goal, 24-21.
Matt Hayes of The Sporting News goes with Sparty, 23-20.
And Alan Babbitt of the Holland (Mich.) Sentinel sees a Hawkeyes win in the cards for tonight (Friday) in Michigan. He expects the Hamilton Hawkeyes to "play angry" and wallop Wyoming Park, 35-0. Those Hawkeyes were upset by Holland Christian last week for their first loss in eight games.
Hmmm. A 7-0 Hawkeyes team lost in Michigan? I'm sure it doesn't mean anything.
The Hamilton Hawkeyes (7-1)
