Frigid temperatures on this first day back to school didn't keep students at Pierce Elementary School in Cedar Rapids from turning their principal into an ice cream sundae Monday morning.
Dr. Rebecca DeWald was squirted with chocolate, caramel, strawberry sauce, lots of whipped cream and, of course, a cherry on top.
The event celebrated fall fundraising efforts at the school, 4343 Marilyn Dr. NE.
