Lynne P. Truax, 69, of Marion, Iowa, went to be with her lord following a courageous battle with cancer on Dec. 19, 2018, at her home surrounded by her family.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 22, at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 8300 C Ave., Marion, Iowa. The family will greet friends one hour before services at the church on Saturday. Private family burial will take place at Oak Shade Cemetery in Marion.
Lynne was born June 25, 1949, in Waterloo, Iowa. She graduated from North Linn High School and attended the University of Northern Iowa and Kirkwood Community College. On Oct. 27, 1973, in Monticello, Lynne was united in marriage to Mark T. Truax. She was a partner at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Marion. Lynne's true joy came from being with her family, and especially her three beautiful grandchildren. They were the light of her life.
She is survived by her husband, Mark Truax of Marion; her children, Nicole (Dan) Studt, Megan (Bryan) Knatz and Michael Truax, all of Marion; three grandchildren, Nathan Studt, Ashton Knatz and Jack Knatz; one brother, Bruce (Nancy) Smith of Marion; and sister-in-law, Sally Smith of Troy Mills. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
Lynne was preceded in death by her father, Lowell Smith; mother, Elaine Lyons; stepfather, Fred Lyons; and brother, Joel Smith.
Memorials may be directed in Lynne's memory to Hospice of Mercy.
