DAVID "DAVE" A. PICKART
Blairstown
Our beloved David "Dave" A. Pickart passed away in his sleep on his 72nd birthday, Jan. 14, 2021. At his request, there will be no services at this time. A memorial service is planned for the Spring of 2021. Cremation has taken place and burial will be in the Norway Cemetery next to his father. The family requests please no flowers or plants as a memorial fund has been established. Cards and memorials may be directed to David and family in care of Kloster Funeral Home, 298 W. Washington St., Marengo, IA 52301. Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo, is assisting the family with arrangements.
David was born Jan. 14, 1949, at Mercy Hospital, Cedar Rapids, to parents Harriet Mae Holland and David Richard Pickart of Norway. He married Debra Haage and they had one son, Dustin. The couple later divorced. Dave worked for the Leo Kelly Co. and Farmstead and farmed for Don Newton for many years. He loved working the land in the spring and fall, still doing so up until his death. Dave enjoyed working on cars, he especially liked riding his Harley. He actually built a motorcycle and received first place trophies with it.
Dave is survived by his son, Dustin (Robin) Pickart of Iowa City; his beloved mother, Harriet Pickart of Amana; a sister, Lori (Steve) Davis of Texas; four brothers, Gerald of Marengo, Bruce (Liz) of Missouri, Terry of Norway and Mark (Regina) of Tennessee; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Also surviving him are a vast number of friends who meant the world to Dave. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his dad, David R Pickart; his grandparents on both sides; and many aunts, uncles and other relatives.
May God Bless you on your last ride.
