Donald Drew, 82, of Cedar Rapids, died following a brief illness on Wednesday, March 18, 2015, at University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics, Iowa City, surrounded by his family. Funeral Mass: 10 a.m. Monday, March 23, at All Saints Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. John R. Flaherty. Visitation: 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids, with a vigil at 5 p.m. Burial: Mount Calvary Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his wife, Sarah; children, Mark (Paulette) Drew, Diane (Mike) Micka, Gary (LeAnn) Drew, Julie (Joe) Corpstein, Casey Drew and Jody (Steve) Schmitz; siblings, Darlene (Bill) O'Malley, Walter (Mary) Drew, Ralph Drew, John (Sandie) Drew, Joan (Gary) Schumacher Dekko and Dorothy Drew; 19 grand-children; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Donald was born in Waukon, Iowa, the son of James and Luella Drew. On Oct. 19, 1953, he married Sarah in Waukon. He worked at Hubbard Milling Co. for 37 years, retiring in 1995.
Don enjoyed his walks on the nature trails, riding his motorcycle and spending time with his wife, children and grand-children. He had a deep faith and was a believer of St. Jude.
Don will be remembered for his great sense of humor and his great advice. He will be dearly missed.
He was preceded in death by a son, Duane.
