Donna Murphy, 86, of Marion passed away Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2021, at Willow Gardens Care Center in Marion. There will not be services at this time. A memorial fund has been established. Donna Irene Murphy was born Nov. 3, 1934, in Arlington to parents Irving and Elsie (Brickman) Loomis. She graduated from Arlington High School with the Class of 1952. She married Wayne Smith and he passed away. She later married Jim Murphy and he passed away. Donna had been employed with St. Luke's in Cedar Rapids as an in-home care provider.
Donna adored her grandchildren. She spent countless hours going shopping and out to eat with them. They were her pride and joy. Donna loved her job at St. Luke's and not only cared for the patients' physical needs, she held their hands and cared for them with her heart and soul. She loved her Lord Jesus Christ and is now held up high in all his glory. Donna will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Left to celebrate Donna's life are her children, Dan Smith and Tim Murphy of Cedar Rapids; her grandchildren, Luke, Jamie and Bree Smith and Samantha Murphy; her siblings, Marge Grimm of Waverly and Dorothy (Lee) Buhr of Oelwein; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Wayne Smith and Jim Murphy; and her siblings, Fern Hock, Bob Loomis, Gene Loomis, Carol Tammen, Carl Loomis and Evelyn Loomis.
