Jean D. Oldorf, 94, of Clarence, died Monday, July 27, 2015, at the Clarence Nursing Home. Services: 11 a.m. Thursday, July 30, Chapman Funeral Home, Clarence. Burial: Stanwood Cemetery. Friends may call one hour before the service Thursday at the funeral home.
Survivors include a sister, LaVonne Bova of Lisbon; daughter-in-law, Donna Oldorf of Cedar Rapids; son-in-law, Tom (Margaret) Rohwedder of Wyoming; grandchildren, Kim (Jerry) Sorgenfrey, Forbes Oldorf, Noelle (Damon) Vaughn and Suzanne (Chris) DeWolf; great-grandchildren, Drew Oldorf, Riley, Lindsay and Weston DeWolf, Kayla (Andrew) Buck, Cameron (Katie) Sorgenfrey, Chris Chester and Jozie Vaughn; great-great-grandchildren, Callie and Jack Buck; special friend, JoAnn Wenndt of Clarence; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Dennis; daughter, Judy; and two sisters.
Jean was born June 10, 1921, in Danvers, Minn., to Sylvester and Esther Eldstrom Vandeberg. She married Melvin Oldorf on Feb. 15, 1941, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Stanwood. He passed away in 1994.
Jean graduated from Lisbon High School in 1939 where she also played basketball. She loved to dance, live on the farm, raise her family and was also a great cook. She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Clarence.
