Foo Fighters have appeared on Letterman's show several times in the past. In 2000, the rock band famously played on the latenight show at Letterman's request after he returned from heart surgery.
Most recently, the group played a week-long residency on 'The Late Show” last fall in support of their 'Sonic Highways” HBO docuseries.
