Iowa inks Francis as assistant basketball coach

Iowa has hired Andrew Francis as an assistant men's basketball coach, Sports Information Director Phil Haddy and Iowa Athletics Director Gary Barta said Thursday. The school will announce the hire in an official release later today.

Francis, a Brooklyn, N.Y. native, served for three years at Siena under new Iowa Coach Fran McCaffery. Before coming to Siena, Francis worked for two years under Jay Wright at Villanova.
