Jacqueline "Jackie" A. Rathje, 81, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Saturday, Sept. 9, 2017, at Living Center East, Cedar Rapids. Funeral service: 3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 15, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories with the Rev. Dr. Kay Slocum officiating. Burial will be held in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2 to 3 p.m. Friday at the chapel.
Family members include her brother, Tom (Ronda) McAllen; children, John Rathje and Tina Rathje; grandchildren,
Jade Rathje and Sky and Rivers Rathje; and special friends who visited her at LCE, Buddie, Max and Wendy.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edward Rathje; and daughter, Tina Rathje.
Jacqueline Ann McAllen was born July 5, 1936, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of William and Zella (Snyder) McAllen. On April 10, 1961, she married Edward H. Rathje at First Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids.
The family would like to especially thank all of the staff at Living Center East for all the wonderful care that was given to Jackie for eight years.
