Ida Mae White, 81, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Friday, March 6, 2015, at the Vinton Lutheran Home. A funeral service celebrating Ida Mae's life will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 10, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories, with Cedar Memorial Certified Celebrant Jim Parton officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Amy White of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Boede White and Cassandra White, both of Cedar Rapids; and brother and sister-in-law, William and Janet Tompkins of Georgetown, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Arthur.
Ida Mae Tompkins was born Sept. 6, 1933, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of William and Oleta (Graham) Tompkins. In 1951, she married Arthur White. He died in 1976. Ida Mae retired from Aegon in 2001 and worked as a support agent.
She enjoyed movies, bowling, fishing, boating, and her family, especially her grandchildren.
Her memories will be cherished.
A memorial fund has been established in her name.
