ELIZABETH REYNOLDS Marquette Elizabeth Marion Jane "Betty" Reynolds, 93, of Marquette, died Thursday, March 5, 2015, at Great River Care Center, McGregor. Elizabeth, the daughter of Morris and Lillian (Gorsch) Thomas, was born June 22, 1921, in Williamsburg, Iowa. She was united in marriage with Dale Reynolds on June 11, 1940. Betty, along with her husband, owned and operated the McGregor Roofing Co. from 1949 to 1974. They also built the New Frontier Motel in Marquette, and together operated it from 1964 until their retirement in 1974. They also owned and operated the Little Swiss Drive Inn in McGregor and the Barr House Antique shop in Marquette. Betty was a people person who enjoyed writing letters, traveling, gardening and antiques. Betty is survived by her children, Sharon Matthew of Marquette and Douglas Reynolds of McGregor; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Morris and Lillian Thomas; husband, Dale, in 1996; daughter, Karen Kyle; and four grand-daughters in infancy. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to St. Paul Lutheran Church, McGregor, Mar-Mac Rescue Squad, McGregor Fire Department and The Marquette Depot Museum. Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 14, at Pleasant Grove Cemetery, McGregor, for family and friends. Pastor Andrew Preus will be the officiant.
