Billie Joy Thompson, 87, of Cedar Rapids, formerly of Ottumwa, died Oct. 24, 2018, at her home in Cedar Rapids.
She was born July 2, 1931, in San Angelo, Texas, to Charlie and Zelma Ainsworth Wyatt. She married Elwood Orrin Thompson in 1951, in Fort Worth, Texas, and he preceded her in death on Aug. 12, 1986.
Surviving are her children, Nita (Greg) Fulton of London, Ky., Kenneth (Jackie) Thompson of San Angelo, Texas, Doug (Joy) Thompson of Orlando, Fla., Teressa (Jim) Strader of Oologah, Okla., and Marvin (Sandy) Thompson of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Jennifer (Steve) Adkisson, Theresa (Raymond) Osenbaugh, Jake (Amanda) Thompson, Casie Thompson, Debra Kim, Esther Kim and Dawn (Steve) Hinds; and great-grandchildren, Angela, Adelaide and Elliott.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Elwood Orrin Thompson; a son, Duane Thompson; and an infant granddaughter, Margaret Thompson.
Graveside services and burial will be 1 p.m. Saturday at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Bloomfield.
Reece Funeral Home in Ottumwa is in charge of the arrangements.
