SKYLAR CHAD AARON EBY
Marion
Skylar Chad Aaron Eby, 19, of Marion, passed away Sunday, March 6, 2016.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday, March 14, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories, Cedar Rapids. Visitation will be from 1 until 5 p.m. Sunday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Inurnment will follow at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Skylar was born Nov. 1, 1996. in Cedar Rapids to Christopher Eby and Shannon Pettit. He was a graduate of Linn-Mar High School. He was currently employed as a product unloader at Walmart.
Skylar was very artistic; he often expressed himself in paintings and by creating his own games. He loved to use his camera. He created films with his friends in starring roles. He talked of going to film school and he enjoyed acting.
Skylar loved to play thinking games with his family and friends, such as Magic: The Gathering. He took great pleasure in watching his dad get brain-overload from the games. He enjoyed hot, spicy sauces and would convince his father to try as he watched in glee. He was a deep thinker who cared deeply about his family, friends and people in general.
He objected to the societal structures that caused people to conflict with one another. Skylar would use his voice to speak for those who were treated unfairly. In such a short life span, Skylar was a supernova in searing lasting imprints on his world. Every life Skylar touched will be a little greener and forever a little brighter.
Skylar is survived by his parents; brothers, Thaine and Jerrod Eby of Marion; grandfather, Ben Eby of Hiawatha; grandparents, Deborah and Bruce Ogden of Marion and Charles and LaDonna Pettit of Urbana; great-grandmothers, Mary Kalisch of Cedar Rapids and Lavonne Henkel of Vinton; his feathered family, Maynard, Billy, Tami and Elmo; as well as a great many wonderful friends, including Elijah, Jackson, Emily, Angeline and Emma.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund in Skylar's name has been established and may be directed to his father, Chris Eby.
