Class 1A and 2A Iowa boys' basketball teams have a better idea of where the road to the state tournament could take them.
The Iowa High School Athletic Association released district and substate assignments for the smaller two classes Friday.
The IHSAA will not determine district pairings. Instead, coaches will meet for a seeding meeting (Feb. 1 in 1A and 2A) to form the brackets.
District and substate assignments for Class 3A and 4A will be released by the IHSAA next Friday. The seeding meetings for those two classes take place Feb. 8.
Substate winners advance to the state tournament, which is March 6-11 at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines.
Teams ranked in the latest Gazette poll (Jan. 16) are listed first.
